USN Now Accepting Applications For New Accelerated Second Bachelor's Degree in Nursing Program
The USN College of Nursing is now accepting applications for its new, 14-month Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ABSN) program. Expected to begin in October, the program is a second bachelor’s degree program, requiring prospective students to already have a bachelor’s degree in a non-nursing discipline from a regionally accredited college or university. The ABSN program blends the convenience and flexibility of online instruction with on-site, hands-on clinical skill development taught by the College of Nursing’s experienced nurse educators as well as clinical rotations at a variety of Southern Nevada health care facilities. Richard Buchanan, DMD Appointed Dean of the University of Southern Nevada College of Dental Medicine
Today, Dr. Harry Rosenberg, president of the private, non-profit University of Southern Nevada, announced the appointment of Richard Buchanan, DMD as dean of the USN College of Dental Medicine, effective June 1, 2010. Dr. Buchanan will be based at the university’s South Jordan, Utah campus where plans are underway for the launch of the first pre-doctoral dental program in the state in Fall 2011.

College of Nursing Now Accepting Applications for August 2010 and January 2011 classes
The University of Southern Nevada College of Nursing is accepting applications for its Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program for classes starting in August 2010 at the Henderson, Nev. campus. The College of Nursing is also accepting applications for the January 2011 class at the Henderson, Nev. and South Jordan, Utah campuses. Diabetes Summer Seminar– is a 2-hour live continuing education program for pharmacists in Utah who are interested in updating their knowledge on new antidiabetic agents with a focus on how to recommend therapy to improve diabetes outcomes. This program starts at 8:00 a.m. and will be held at Dixie State College in St. George, UT.

Diabetes Summer Seminar and Law Update– is a 3-hour live continuing education program for pharmacists in Nevada who are interested in updating their knowledge on new antidiabetic agents with a focus on how to recommend therapy to improve diabetes outcomes. This program is also designed to help pharmacists meet their law-specific CE requirements. This program starts at 1:30 p.m. at our Henderson Campus.

APhA’s Pharmacy-Based Immunization Delivery
APhA’s Pharmacy-Based Immunization Delivery- is an innovative and interactive training program that teaches pharmacists the skills necessary to become a primary source for vaccine information and administration. The program teaches the basics of immunology and focuses on practice implementation and legal/regulatory issues. This certificate training program is a Practice-based activity conducted in two parts – a self-study learning component and a live training seminar. This program is being offered in Northern and Southern Nevada and will begin at 7:30 a.m.
